Police Bullets on the cusp of third Premier League title

Reigning Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Women’s Premier League champions Kenya Police Bullets will have everything to play for when they face off with Trinity Starlets today at Trinity Complex.

With just two matches away from the end of the 2025-2025 season, the law enforcers have their work cut out as they look to extend their reign to three years in a row. Currently at the top of the table with 46 points, a win in today’s duel will see them retain their trophy with a match in hand.

Maximum points will see them open a five-point gap between them and their closest challengers and bitter rivals, Ulinzi Starlets, making it impossible for them to catch up. The soldiers are second on the table with 44 points and one match to play, meaning that the maximum points they can garner is 47 if they win their last encounter against Bungoma Queens.

For Ulinzi to snatch the trophy, they must beat Bungoma Queens and pray that Bullets lose their remaining two encounters.

In an interview after demolishing former champions Vihiga Queens 9-0 last weekend, Bullets captain Elizabeth Ochaka emphasised that they must remain focused to accomplish their objectives.

“I can’t say that we are about to win the league because we must remain focused and take one step at a time. Our focus is on the next opponent, Trinity Starlets, who are a very good side, and so we will go into the match, fight, and see how it goes,” Ochaka said.

Zetech University Sparks will welcome Kibera Soccer Women at their Mang’u campus as they seek to win and increase their points tally.

Sparks will be hoping to bounce back from last Saturday’s shock defeat to Soccer Assassins. Seemingly content with securing an away point, Zetech returned to Nairobi a dejected lot after losing 1-0 in added time.

Already assured of a top-five finish, Kibera Soccer, on the other hand, will be hoping to secure its 10th victory. They are fifth with 31 points, nine more than Zetech, who are sixth with 22. Despite playing 19 matches, Sparks, who have three matches at hand, must win all their matches with more goals to snatch the fifth spot.

Soccer Assassins, who are hanging precariously above the relegation zone, will build on last Saturday’s win against Zetech Sparks to secure maximum points and maintain their place in the top tier. They are ninth with 18 points, and their Premier League slot will be safer if they win their remaining matches.

Four points separate Soccer Assassins and debutants Gideon Starlets, who are battling for survival in the danger zone. Gideon Starlets face an uphill task against wounded Vihiga Queens, who will be out to prove that their thrashing at the hands of Police was just a bad day in office.
