- A cab driver identified as Peter Wambua shared a story of how Dela Ward MCA Yussuf Hussein was abducted while he was on his way to Pangani Heights
- According to the driver, Yussuf, who was from Wajir county was minding his business in the back seat when men from a Prado roughly abducted him
- Sadly, the MCA’s mutilated body was found near Lake Yahud in Wajir after Kenyans made noise online, and the family accused government operatives of abducting him
Nairobi: A taxi driver has recounted how departed Dela ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) was roughly abducted by men who were in huge Toyota Prado cars.

In a TikTok video shared by Frontier Online, the cab driver, identified as Peter Wambua, flanked by Yussuf’s family and other loved ones, said that he requested the ride through the Faras app in South C.

“He was with another person, and they bid each other goodbye and the other man went back to Alai Estate. Yussuf was on TikTok all through and when we got to Enterprise Road, a white Prado blocked my car,” he said.

“It happened 70 metres from the roundabout and all of a sudden a black Prado hooted and then came very fast. The white one refused to move from it then moved and the black one blocked my path. Five men came out and one held a gun to my head while the other four roughtly took the MCA,” he added.
Apparently, one of the men took Wambua’s keys, phone and earphones. He later reported the matter at Industrial area police station.

Court directed Police IG to produce Yussuf
On September 26, 2024, High Court judge Alexander Muteti directed Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja to produce Yussuf in court on Friday, September 27.
Justice Muteti further ordered that if the missing MCA was not produced, the police boss should explain why he could not implement the order.
Justice Muteti made the directive to the IG and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in a case where the family of the ward boss accused state operatives of abducting their kin.
