Nairobi – Makueni Senator Dan Maanzo has made some serious allegations against Opposition leader Raila Odinga over the multi-billion Adani proposed deals.

Speaking on Citizen TV on Monday, October 14, Maanzo claimed Raila has a history with the controversial Indian company.

The Wiper senator claimed that Adani Group was among the main sponsors of Raila’s 2012 presidential bid.

According to the Makueni senator, Adani funded the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) presidential campaigns, in which Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka was the running mate.

“Adani is an Indian company, and Raila admitted that he had known the company since 2010 when he was the Prime Minister. It was one of the companies sponsoring his presidential campaign so that he could become president in 2012. They sponsored the presidential campaign for Raila. I don’t have the exact amount. Kalonzo was there,” Maanzo claimed.

The outspoken senator further claimed that the Indian company had bribed both Raila and President William Ruto, which was why it was getting preferential treatment from the government.

According to Maanzo, the appointment of Opiyo Wandayi as the Energy Cabinet Secretary was not a coincidence.

‘’We are aware that a lot of bribes are being exchanged for these companies to get jobs here and that is it, there is nothing much that will come out. The bribes are in billions of shillings to some of these political leaders. I am talking about Raila Odinga and William Ruto,’’ he claimed.
