Jelimo’s story turned positive when then-nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura, who also chairs the Albinism Society of Kenya, became aware of her struggles.

After contacting her family, Mwaura secured admission slots for her at both Kapkenda Girls’ High School and Thika High School for the Visually Impaired.

She joined Kapkenda Girls, an institution where renowned Nakuru businesswoman Tabitha Karanja once studied.

The Kenya Education Fund further committed to sponsoring her education for the full four-year high school term, providing much-needed relief to her father, Samwell Kipruto, a tea farm labourer.

In addition to covering her school fees, the Albinism Society of Kenya also provided essential supplies, including sunscreen and protective clothing, to ensure her well-being during her studies.

In a remarkable tale of resilience and hope, Jelimo has completed the four-year term in high school and is ready for her final exams.

“I have revised well, and I’m sure I’ll perform well in the exams because I’m eyeing a career in medicine,” she said during an interview with Hubz Media.

For Jelimo and her family, Mwaura’s assistance marked a turning point in their lives, opening doors that had been shut.

Kipruto is confident that his daughter will excel in the exams and change the family’s fortunes in the future.

Displaying grace and forgiveness, the man says he holds no resentment toward the principals who initially denied his daughter admission, focusing instead on her promising future.

Meanwhile, Jelimo is ready to make the most of her KCSE exams, determined to turn her challenges into opportunities.
