Homa Bay County is in mourning following the death of Pastor Raphael Obego, the county’s principal chaplain.

Pastor Obego drew public attention in February this year when he left President William Ruto and other officials laughing during the International Investment Conference in Homa Bay.
His unique style of prayer captured Ruto’s attention. Following Obego’s death, Ruto shared an emotional tribute on social media.
What did Ruto say about Pastor Obego?
In a statement on his X account, Ruto described Obego as a devoted servant of God and a prayer warrior.
“He was a light-hearted faith leader whose sermons were not only provoking and evocative but also clear and authentic,” Ruto’s statement read.
He also offered condolences to the family and congregation of the late clergyman during this challenging time.
