The DP challenged the mover of his impeachment motion, Kibwezi West MP Eckomas Mwengi Mutuse, to provide evidence of the allegations.

“For the record, President William Ruto has never complained to me that I have undermined him. If he has told that to the mover of the motion, MP Mwengi Mutuse, I would like to know that he has complained to Mutuse that his deputy has undermined him,” the DP stated.

The second in command highlighted some of his constitutional duties as he fought off the allegations against his conduct.

Gachagua highlighted Article 147 of Kenyan law, which stipulates his mandate as the principal assistant to the president.
