President William Ruto has appointed Bishop Margret Wanjiru as the new chairperson of the Nairobi Rivers Commission, replacing Pamela Olet, who has been dismissed from the position.

The commission is responsible for coordinating the activities of various stakeholders involved in the rehabilitation, protection, and restoration of the riverine basin.

It will also monitor compliance with environmental laws and regulations in the basin and its catchment areas, working alongside state departments, agencies, and ministries.
How did Wanjiru pray after her church’s demolition?
Before her appointment, Bishop Wanjiru made headlines for her powerful prayer following the demolition of her church, Jesus Is Alive Ministry, and an alleged assault by police officers.
In her prayer, she claimed that President Ruto would seek her out despite the pain he allegedly caused her.
“My president, I was beaten and my clothes were lifted by police security agents, a woman of God. I wanna make a very sweet promise to you. Believe me, you will look for me. I am not moving neither am I going anywhere, I will be here. You have started a fight that you can’t finish. As I prayed for the demolishers, his family and yours are not exempted, my tears will pay. We are extremely disappointed with the Kenya Kwanza government.
