Little Fish Swim Club dominated the Nairobi County Swimming Association (NCSA) Minnows swimming gala held at Kiota School at the weekend.
The upcoming swimmers showed their opponents how it’s done topping both the boys and girls rankings.
In the boys’ contest, Little Fish was unstoppable winning an impressive 56 medals. They bagged 31 gold, 11 silver and 14 bronze with their closest challengers Sailfish Swim Club garnering 18 gold, two silver and four bronze medals.
German School Nairobi was third with 10 gold, seven silver and nine bronze medals. Peponi School and Cavina completed the top five with a total of 39 and 20 medals respectively.
The girls topped the medal rankings with 23 gold, 23 silver and 15 bronze for an accumulative 61.
Rusinga Schools were second with 16 gold, 13 silver and six bronze, Sailfish Swim Club girls were third with nine gold, 10 silver and nine bronze.
Cavina School collected nine gold, five silver and six bronze to finish fourth while Rayfish Swim School ranked fifth with eight gold and one bronze.
Ichika Ikenaga of Little Fish was no match for her peers in the girls six years and under category, accumulating 24 points to emerge the best swimmer in that category.
Her teammates Joaana Muthwale and Jane Njoroge were second with seven and six points. Jabari Kemucie of Sailfish dominated the boys six years and under contest, garnering 23 points, 10 more than Damian Ateya of Little Fish who finished second with 13.
