President William Ruto has appointed former Lunga Lunga MP Khatib Mwashetani as the new non-executive chairperson of the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) Board for a three-year term.
This follows the revocation of Timothy Bosire’s earlier nomination after he declined the position in January.
The changes come days after a cabinet reshuffle and a realignment of principal secretaries, signaling a broader reshaping of leadership across government agencies.
In other key appointments, former Nandi Woman Representative Tecla Tum has been named to the Technical Working Group on Gender-Based Violence.
Additionally, Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has appointed Roselyn Mungai to the Social Health Authority, replacing Zakayo Kariuki, whose appointment was rescinded.
Duale also announced the formation of a 19-member committee, chaired by James Masiro, tasked with reviewing pending NHIF claims over the next three months.
Other committee members include Anne Wamae, Meshack Matengo, Peter Kitheka, David Dawe, and Paul Wafula, among others. The committee will be based at the Social Health Authority building and is expected to make recommendations to the Ministry of Health.
Further state appointments include Tabitha Langat as a member of the Tea Board of Kenya under the Ministry of Agriculture, and Faud Abdalla Ali as a member of the governing council of the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development under the Ministry of Education.
