Rigathi Gachagua Suffers Setback as Court of Appeal Declines to Stop Ruling on Kindiki’s Swearing In

Nairobi – Impeached Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has failed in his bid to stop the ouster proceeding at the High Court.

Gachagua moved to the Court of Appeal seeking conservatory orders stopping the delivery of the ruling regarding the lifting of orders stopping the swearing-in of Kithure Kindiki as the new deputy president.

However, the Court of Appeal of judges declined to grant orders to stop High Court proceedings pending appeal but directed the matter be mentioned on Wednesday, November 6.

Justices Patrick Kiage, George Odunga, and Aggrey Muchelule adjourned the hearing of Gachagua’s appeal, citing procedural issues.

According to the judges, Gachagua’s legal team failed to properly list and serve all parties involved in the consolidated case at the High Court.
