Kiambu—Former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua has downplayed the calm in the Mt Kenya region days after his impeachment.
Speaking in Limuru on Tuesday, November 5, during the burial of Lucy Wambui, who lost her life after undergoing a botched surgery, Gachagua said many people expected Mt Kenya residents to riot.
According to Gachagua, many people expected his supporters to take to the streets and destroy properties in protest of his impeachment.
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua urges his supporters to remain calm and to only express their anger through songs.
“Our community is very unique, and many people are shocked. They expected people to go to the streets, light fires, destroy vehicles, and shout. That is not who we are. These people don’t know us well. When we feel offended, we keep quiet. If you feel offended that you must express yourself sing and dance.
