In a heated late-night voting session at the National Assembly, 281 lawmakers voted to uphold all 11 charges against the deputy president.
However, a total of 44 Members of Parliament opposed the impeachment of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, while one MP chose to abstain from the vote
