Nairobi – The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has officially removed Cleophas Malala from his position as secretary general.
This comes following Registrar of Political Parties Ann Nderitu’s letter confirming the ruling party’s decision.
In a letter dated Tuesday, October 8, Nderitu validated the outcome of UDA’s Internal Dispute and Resolution Committee proceedings, officially endorsing Malala’s ouster. T
The decision follows the conclusion of internal processes triggered by disputes within the party’s top ranks.

Nderitu’s communication referenced formal letters submitted by UDA’s leadership on October 7 and 8, affirming the party’s resolution to replace Malala as its Secretary General.
“This Office acknowledges receipt of your letters dated 7th and 8th October 2024 on the conclusion of the party’s Internal Dispute and resolution Committee proceedings and the annexed decision thereto. Pursuant to Section 20(4) of the Political Parties Act CAP 7D, this Office notifies the party that a change has been made in the office of the UDA Secretary General as per Gazette notice no 10349 dated 19th August 2024. The change takes effect from the date of this letter,” read Nderitu’s letter.
