The National Executive retreat is underway in Kajiado County, chaired by President William Ruto and now in its second day.
Among the notable attendees is Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga.

The retreat aims to boost service delivery, discuss the role of the legislature, and deepen intergovernmental collaboration, among other key issues.
Senior government leaders present include Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, and key advisors such as David Ndii, Monica Juma, and Head of Public Service Felix Koskei.

Auditor General Nancy Gathungu is also attending and is expected to highlight the need for enhanced government accountability.
Speaking on Thursday, President Ruto acknowledged the challenges of transforming the country, saying the process has required difficult decisions.
“We remain focused as we build synergies that will spur our economic growth,” he said.

But,the retreat has also drawn criticism online, with Kenyans questioning the government’s spending on such events at a time when citizens are struggling under high taxes and a soaring cost of living.
