Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Mwihaki was working in Saudi Arabia when her kids passed away, but her neighbour did not inform her.

“She told me she did not want to shock and distract me at work. She feared my reaction and claimed the news would throw me off,” Mwihaki said.

How did Mwihaki’s kids die?

The devastated woman said her kids died of pneumonia at night, as the neighbour said their condition had worsened.

Mwihaki was aware of the state she left her kids in, confirming they were sick when she left for the Gulf.

“They were sick, but I did not know it would lead to their death. I immediately told her to show me their grave because I would not believe it until I saw where they were buried. She told me she buried them in Longonot, in a land where there are no settlers,” Mwihaki agonisingly narrated.

She was shown their grave, and she was tearfully content with their death, though it pained her she did not know about it.

“I went to Saudi to toil for my children, but I was working for kids who were dead, children who were no more. I came back after my contract ended, hoping to reunite with my children, but I came back to emptiness,” she said.

Mwihaki noted she was not communicating with the neighbour because she had no phone.
