Nakuru A young woman is worried and emotional after her little child went missing for days.

Maureen Gesare is concerned about her nine-month-old daughter, Maya Kerubo, whom she has not seen

Gesare, a teenage mother, left her young daughter in the care of her sister, Faith Kemunto, who also has a young child.

“I left Maya awake in bed. I made some food for her consisting of bananas and potatoes. She called me mum thrice, but I told myself she would cry and return to sleep. I left her under the care of my sister,” she said.

Kemunto claimed her neighbour’s twins asked to carry Maya and her child. They joined a group of kids who were usually given free food.

“The stranger called one child who had my child. She asked the child my baby’s gender, then called her twin who carried Maya and asked her name and gender as well,” she said.

The strange woman was claimed to deceive kids with food, promising them fries, chicken, and soft drinks.

According to CCTV footage, the woman entered a shop and purchased plastic cups.

She later gave the kids money and showed them where they would buy the snacks she promised them.

“She asked one of the twins who had Maya to give her the child to help carry her. Once she was given Maya, she told one of the twins to tell the kids who had gone to the hotel to add chicken to their purchase. The twin was escorted by the other kids, and when they returned, they found the lady had left,” she heartbreakingly said.

The disappearance of Maya has left her mum heartbroken as she appealed to the unknown woman to return her child.

In another story, little Michelle Marjorie was playing with her friends outside their house when two women allegedly stole her.

According to Ev Mercy Nungari, the little girl was taken by two women on Friday, October 25, and the parents of the child reported the matter to Juja Police Station.

Netizens thronged Nungari’s Facebook page and sympathised with the family while also offering prayers on Facebook.
