Nakuru – CCTV footage has emerged showing the moment a suspected thief stole a nine-month-old baby.

A video shared by KTN showed how the suspect lured a group of young children with fries at a local fast-food joint.

How suspected Nakuru baby thief lured kids, stole infant

The woman reportedly took the children to the eatery and offered them chips to gain their trust.

She then gave them money to buy food, remaining behind with the toddler she intended to steal.

The children innocently agreed to leave the baby with her, only to find the woman and the infant gone when they returned.

The incident left 18-year-old Maureen Gesare, the mother of the missing baby, devastated.

A mother’s worst nightmare

Gesare, a young mother living in Nakuru’s Rhonda area, had begun her day as usual.

She recounted the last peaceful moments she shared with her baby before going to work, watching her little one drift in and out of sleep.

Believing her child would be safe at home, she asked her elder sister to watch the baby.

However, while Maureen was away, an unknown woman stole the infant and vanished.

Gesare’s desperate plea for help to reunite with missing baby

In an emotional video, Gesare described the shock and horror she felt upon realizing her baby was gone.

She sought help from neighbours, who recalled seeing the stranger with the baby at a local eatery but could not say where the woman went afterwards.

Heartbroken, terrified, and fearing for her child’s safety, she filed a report with the local authorities.

Gesare is appealing to the public for assistance locating her baby and identifying the woman responsible.

“I just want my baby back,” she pleaded. “If anyone knows anything, please help us.”

Authorities urge anyone with information about the woman or the baby’s whereabouts to come forward.

Meanwhile, residents are reminded to be vigilant, especially in protecting children from strangers.
