Naivasha’s fast-growing eSports scene is set for a major showdown this Sunday as Rangers Gaming Station hosts Episode 3 of the Rangers Biggest tournament, promising intense gaming action and a hefty Sh150,000 prize pool.
The tournament, which has attracted over 100 registered players, is shaping up to be the biggest yet, with positions 1 through 10 guaranteed cash prizes and fully branded Rangers Esports T-shirts.
The top prize stands at Sh55,000, with second and third place bagging Sh35,000 and Sh25,000, respectively.
Behind the growing success of this gaming movement is Mama Selina Rangers, the Tournament Director, whose passion for eSports was sparked by her family.
“I chose to invest in gaming after my husband, Baba Selina, and little brother introduced me to it,” she said. “Now, my goal is to build one of the biggest, best, and most unique tournaments in the country.”
What started as a small gaming station with just five consoles has now grown to 15, and recently, Mama Selina officially launched Rangers Esports. The upcoming tournament marks the third edition under this banner.
Mama Selina believes in the power of gaming as a career path.
“I want to support young gamers and show them that gaming can be more than just a hobby—it’s a career. We want to prove to Kenyans that eSports can be commercialized,” she said.
The event, sponsored by Nilesh Gorasia, will take place at Rangers Gaming Station.
With momentum building and a vision for the future, Sunday’s tournament could be a turning point for Kenya’s competitive gaming scene.
Gamers from Kisumu, Kakamega, Eldoret, Nairobi, Nakuru are expected to grace the even as esports continue to grow in Kenya.
