Lewis Muthokumi Mwenda, the young boy who tearfully prayed in a cave for God to help him pay his KSh 32,000 fees, received a heroic welcome when he arrived at school.

Muthokomi touched many with his heartbreaking story and attitude despite the challenges his family was facing, which included not having a home and his parents’ joblessness.

The young man, who had not gone to school for two terms, found solace in a cave of a worship place, worshipping God. The Form One student, who lives in Machakos with his father and mother, said Kimuri Secondary School in Naivasha wanted KSh 32,000 in school fees.
After his story broke out, many people rushed to start contributing to him, and they turned things around for the family.
Team Sisi Kwa Sisi you are good people. We have made KSh 1 million. Simu ya mama imejaa. i have taked the kid to school and paid for four years!Let us change their lives; mum should start a business and the buthery that was closed, she should build another one bigger than Kenya Meat Commission,” said Eric Omondi.
