A 30-year-old man is hospitalised at Naivasha Sub-County Hospital after being reportedly shot by police outside a nightclub.

The man, identified as Jimmy Ngugi, was shot in the neck after allegedly confronting a police officer.
What did Ngugi say about his shooting?
While speaking from his hospital bed to NTV, Ngugi recounted that he confronted the police officer after catching him urinating on his motorbike.

He stated that he confronted the officer about his behavior, but the intoxicated officer quickly denied it.
“I used the light on my phone to show him where he had urinated. The officer then asked me what I wanted him to do about it,” Ngugi said.
The confrontation between Ngugi and the officer escalated rapidly when the officer allegedly drew his gun and shot Ngugi in the neck.
” I told him that all I wanted was for him to stop urinating on my bike. That’s when he removed his gun and shot me,” he added.
Ngugi suffered injuries to his neck and collarbone as a result of the incident. His friends, present during the altercation, expressed concerns for their safety since the alleged police officer remains at large.
“I fear for my life because I was near Ngugi at the time of the incident. That officer saw us and up until now no action has been taken against him,” one friend said.

Ngugi is now calling on the government to take action against the officer, asserting that the incident is a form police brutality since he had done nothing wrong.
Naivasha CID boss Isaac Kiama, noted that officers from both the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CIPU) and the DCI have began investigations into the matter.
