A lovely couple from Nairobi county has opened up on their harrowing experience of childlessness.

Bernard Achebe and his lovely wife Winnie wedded in 2018 but stayed for years before getting their first child.

The lovebirds who met at the University of Nairobi noted they stayed for six years before welcoming a baby.

Winnie opens up on reason she couldn’t conceive

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Winnie recounted her journey of trusting God for the fruit of her womb while facing challenging moments.

“It was not easy for us. People kept looking and asking questions about our fertility. Since my husband and I are pastors, we have spiritual sons and daughters who we counselled. We prayed for many who were blessed with children, but for us, we were still waiting for ours.

I had tried everything except witchcraft since I am a born-again believer. I did everything I could medically, but then nothing was coming. Part of the reason I struggled to conceive was because my fallopian tubes were closed, and I had fibroids,” Winnie narrated.

The obstacles did not stop people from criticising them, including family members who bombarded them with questions.

Winnie attacked by cousins during transport discussion

Winnie recalled when a disagreement with her cousins shifted from transport to her inability to conceive.

“They said if I was a woman like other women, why didn’t I give birth? Others questioned my husband, and others mocked our God. It was so heartbreaking, and it crashed me so much. I thought they would have my back like family, but that was not the case,” she added.

She said she once left her husband to seek God and plead her case to Him as she had been through a lot and was almost giving up.

However, that same year she sought God, six years after the wedding, was the time God had appointed for her to conceive.

Woman gives birth to five kids at once after 9 years

In another story, a woman celebrated God’s work in her life after giving birth to five beautiful babies.

The woman took to TikTok to share a video of the babies, and her followers were fascinated.

She said God took away nine years of barrenness from her life, giving her multiple children at once.
