Kibwezi West Member of Parliament Mwengi Mutuse expressed his happiness at Kithure Kindiki being sworn in as deputy president.
He also noted his role in ensuring that Kindiki’s predecessor, Rigathi Gachagua, was impeached to allow Kindiki’s swearing-in.
What did Mutuse tell Kindiki?
In a statement on his Facebook account, Mwengi congratulated Kindiki on his elevation from Interior Cabinet Secretary to the country’s second in command.
“Congratulations, Prof. Abraham Kithure Kindiki, on your assumption of the office of Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya today,” Mutuse’s statement read in part.
He expressed pride in initiating the move that resulted in Rigathi Gachagua’s impeachment and Kindiki’s assumption of the deputy presidency.
Mutuse said it took courage and bravery for him to take that leap of faith and sponsor the motion that led to Kindiki being deputy president.

“I’m proud that I initiated and canvassed the motion that led to this historic milestone in our governance. It took great courage and bravery,” he said
He asserted that his love for his country inspired him to take the bold step that resulted in this historic milestone in governance.
“It was all out of patriotism and great love for my country. I sense rekindled hope among Kenyans that will turn around our socio-economic progress for the benefit of all Kenyans. Once more, congratulations from the “chief impeacher”, my prof, my friend. I wish you Godspeed,” Mutuse said.
