As the crescent moon signaled the end of the sacred month of Ramadan, Muslim communities across Kenya came together on Sunday, March 30, to celebrate Eid Al-Fitr with prayers, charity, and festivity.

The day marked a moment of spiritual fulfillment and communal unity as thousands gathered at mosques and prayer grounds across the country.

In Nairobi, worshippers filled the Sir Ali Masjid grounds and Jamia Mosque, embracing the spirit of gratitude and renewal that comes with the conclusion of the fasting month.

Kamukunji Member of Parliament Yusuf Hassan, Somalia’s Ambassador to Kenya Jabril Ibrahim Abdulle, and Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja joined the congregation at Business Bay Square Mall in Eastleigh, underscoring the significance of togetherness during this sacred occasion.

“Eid is not just a day of celebration but a time for reflection and unity, a reminder of our shared humanity and the importance of peace and harmony in our society,” said MP Yusuf Hassan

In the coastal city of Mombasa, large crowds assembled for morning prayers at Tononoka Grounds, where Cabinet Secretary for Mining, Blue Economy, and Maritime Affairs Hassan Joho and Mombasa County Speaker Aharub Khatri led the faithful in prayers.

Other gatherings took place at Masjid Yusuf Grounds in Migadini and other locations across the county.
