Murkomen also announced that every sub-county will now have two principal chiefs in a move aimed at streamlining administrative leadership.

While addressing residents in Tana River, he further ordered that no security officer should serve in such regions for more than three years.

Those who have already overstayed in Tana River and other frontier counties are to be transferred immediately, with the process completed in no more than three months.

“Security personnel who have overstayed in Tana River and other frontier counties, marginalised areas, operation areas to be transferred immediately and not later than three months,” said Murkomen.
