Nairobi – Businessman David Langat has distanced himself from the charges faced in court by political activist Morara Kebaso.

Kebaso was arrested at his offices in Nairobi’s Kahawa Sukari area on Monday, September 30, and arraigned a day later.
A charge sheet spotted by this publication indicated that Morara had committed cyber harassment under Section 27 of the Computer Misuse and Cybercrime Act.
He was accused of posting false information about Langat, claiming that President William Ruto had deceived the former into lending him a significant sum of money with a promise of repayment.

Langat would respond a few moments later, disowning his position as the plaintiff in the charge sheet.

On invitation by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations DCI, our Chairman has recorded a statement at the DC!
Headquarters this morning and reiterated that he has nothing to do with the authors or content of the subject online posts. For this reason, we wish to advise that any queries regarding the matter be directed to the relevant investigating agencies,” read an official statement from DL Group of Companies Ltd.
