President William Ruto has arrived in Kwale for the 61st Mashujaa Day celebrations at Kwale Stadium, where he was received by deputy president nominee Kithure Kindiki.

The event will honour the heroes and heroines who fought for Kenya’s independence.
Kindiki’s presence comes shortly after his nomination as the next deputy president, following the impeachment of Rigathi Gachagua, who was removed from office over charges of gross constitutional violations and abuse of office.
This year’s Mashujaa Day is themed Affordable Housing, a key project of the Kenya Kwanza administration.
