It has emerged that Prophetess Mary Sinaida Akatsa left behind sacks of cash in her Kawangware house.
The Jerusalem Church of Christ founder died on October 26 after a protracted kidney problem.
Where was Akatsa’s cash taken?
Nation reports that Akatsa’s siblings and family lawyer deposited the cash in the bank.

How did Akatsa make money?
Details indicate that the clergywoman had several ways to make her fortune.
The first was through church registration as every follower had to pay a fee to join her church.
She must have made money from tithes and registration fees given that her church, founded in the 1980s, boasted over 6,000 followers.
Apart from members, Akatsa had connections outside the church and often received donor funding.

The prophetess also owned a parcel of land in Lugari where she practised large-scale farming.
She also had several parcels of land in Nairobi and prime property in Vihiga.
Before her demise, it was difficult to imagine that she was wealthy given her meekness.
