Grief has engulfed a family in Makueni county as they bury their teenage son, who died on Thursday a week ago.

David Kasyoka, a form three student at Kathekani Secondary School, was sent home to get a fee balance of KSh 4,000.
In a report by KTN News, the family said Kasyoka was sent home on Wednesday of the same week with a fee balance of KSh 7,000, but the family only managed to raise KSh 3,000, which they gave him, hoping the school would accept him.

However, he would be later sent home the same day to get the remaining amount.
“His father deposited three thousand to the school account. However, when he went to school, the teacher in charge told him that he wanted zero balance and sent him back home,” John Kioko, the family spokesperson, stated.
How did Form 3 student in Makueni die?
Kioko said the form three student did not sleep in his room that night, only to be found dead the following morning in their bathroom.
“When they woke up Thursday morning, they realised that the boy did not retire to his bedroom the previous night, and after searching for a while, they found him dead in the bathroom,” he explained.
Kathekani school head teacher Lilian Muthoni expressed her disappointment in the issue, noting that the boy could have been accompanied by his parents to school to explain the situation.

“I encourage my students to come to school with their parents when they cannot clear school fees,” she stated.

In other sad news reported by TUKO.co.ke, a student at the University of Nairobi, identified as Mercy Kwamboka, was found dead in the Kasarani area of Nairobi.
Kwamboka allegedly received a call at 11 pm and left her home in Pipeline estate, never to return as she was found dead with serious injuries.
Preliminary reports confirmed that the Uon student was still alive at 1.00 pm but was unable to walk to go and find help.
