What killed Lucy Wambui?
Wambui, the wife of city businessman Francis Ng’ang’a, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024.
Her death was announced by social media influencer Amira, saying she developed complications after the procedure at Body By Design offices.
Peter Ndegwa, a consultant pathologist, told TUKO.co.ke that Body By Design contacted him to conduct the autopsy.

“I am not the family pathologist,” he asserted, saying the procedure was conducted at the Lee Funeral Home Mortuary.
The postmortem of the 45-year-old was done alongside two other pathologists on Thursday,
The report showed that Wambui developed chest pains and difficulties breathing on the second day after the abdominal fat liposuction procedure.

She was admitted to the hospital and discharged, only to develop complications later that day. She eventually died at the Nairobi Hospital.
The autopsy ascertained there were signs of liposuction, and the cause of death was determined to be cardiorespiratory failure.
“The circumstances of this death need to be investigated to establish at whatever place and time the alleged perforations (if any) of the bowels happened,” Ndegwa concluded.
Why Mike Sonko stormed Body By Design clinic
In other news, former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko stormed the clinic with angry youths who stated they were seeking justice for Wambui.
In a video, the youths were seen at the facility’s gate shouting and stating that they wanted justice for the deceased woman.
Sonko said that they wanted to avoid more deaths.
The clinic’s lawyer, Danstan Omari, told TUKO.co.ke that the angry group almost razed down the building and lauded the police for their swift action.
