Nairobi – Lawyer Kibe Mungai has claimed that Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is an outsider in the Kenya Kwanza administration.
Speaking on NTV on Monday, October 14, Mungai argued despite Gachagua being in government, he has little decision making powers.
The constitutional lawyer stated that Gachagua’s role in President William Ruto’s administration was inferior, given the kind of deals and projects undertaken by governments.
Mungai jokingly said the embattled deputy president was not at the centre of power as he was only chasing after chang’aa people.
“In a country of mega deals and big projects, he was chasing chang’aa people and illicitly blew. Those are the kinds of things he was doing, and that is why, even when it came to preferring judges, you could not see that he was responsible for anything where he could commit a crime,” Mungai said.

According to Mungai, the Kapseret MP and CS Kipchumba Murkomen can influence decisions in the government more than Gachagua.
“Let me use a practical example: we know Oscar Sudi calls more shots than the deputy president, and if you want something done under this government, calling Murkomen and calling Sudi would get you further than calling Gashagua. Ask anybody who knows about this government, and they will confirm to you that this guy was an outsider,” he argued.
