Nairobi – Kithure Kindiki has flown out of the country for the first time as deputy president.
Why is Kithure Kindiki flying to Botswana?
Kindiki was recently sworn in to replace Rigathi Gachagua, who was removed from office through impeachment.
On Friday, November 8, Kindiki left the country for Gaborone, Botswana, where he will represent President William Ruto at Duma Boko’s inauguration ceremony as President of the Republic of Botswana.
“Left the Country this morning for Gaborone, Botswana, to represent President William Samoei Ruto at the swearing in and inauguration ceremony of His Excellency Duma Boko as President of the Republic of Botswana,” Kindiki said in a press statement.

On his trip, Kindiki is accompanied by Senators Fatuma Dullo (Isiolo) and Eddy Oketch (Migori) and National Assembly Members Owen Baya (Kilifi North), Vincent Musyoka (Mwala), John Njuguna Kawanjiku (Kiambaa), Victor Koech (Chepalungu), and Elisha Odhiambo (Gem).
