Kisumu – In a bold operation this afternoon, police in Kisumu shot dead a suspect believed to be involved in the murder of Willis Ayieko.
Nyanza Regional Police Commander Patrick Tito reported that the suspect was tracked down to a hotel near Kisumu Polytechnic, where he had checked in after fleeing from Gem in Siaya County.

“Upon confrontation, the suspect attempted to open fire on our officers, forcing them to respond with necessary force,” Commander Tito stated. “This was a dangerous criminal on the run, and our team acted to ensure public safety.”
During the operation, police recovered a pistol, which is suspected to be linked to other criminal incidents in the area.

Tito emphasized that this operation is part of a broader initiative to address rising crime in Kisumu.
