A stranded young man is seeking financial assistance after he lost his university fees in an online game.

The student said he was in a difficult situation after splashing money on gambling and lost all of it.

He did not know what to do after the massive loss as he opened up on the underlying family challenges.

Why hasn’t Kenyan student reported to school?

“I have not yet reported back to school. This is because I got tempted and played online games with money meant for school fees and rent. I really can’t explain how I lost the money. My single mum is in distress seeing me still around,” he shared.

The distressed young man noted his single mother did not know of his predicament and did not want her to know.

He noted his mother had no other source of funds to get money and pay for the school fees and rent.

“I am reaching out to you to request any support because all mum’s hope is in me,” he cried.

Kenyans advise university student after losing school fees

After the post went viral, social media users went to the comment section to respond to the young man’s plea.

“He needs counselling help plus the mum, but not money.”

Mercy Maina:

“Sometimes, we may all have to make that one stupid and expensive mistake to learn. Unfortunately, this may be it for him.

Let him defer this semester and hustle for that fee. Hopefully a lesson learnt.”

University student found dead after losing bet

In another story, a university student who lost a bet after placing KSh 15,000 meant for fees was found dead.

The student residing in Raila Estate within the Lang’ata constituency locked himself in his rental house on Tuesday, March 26.

His neighbours discovered his body a day later, with witnesses pointing to a lost bet as the case of the young man’s frustration.
