The newspaper reported on the deputy president’s readiness to defend himself before a plenary session of the National Assembly on Tuesday, August 8.

Gachagua faces an impeachment based on an 11-point grounds.

In a press briefing on Monday, October 7, the deputy president poked holes in the charges the ouster has been founded on.

Gachagua termed the charges as lies that would be revealed by his lawyers, who will be taking the stand on his behalf.

“I have been invited to appear in the National Assembly at 5:00 pm, and I want to confirm to the members, Speaker and people of Kenya that I will avail myself at that time and prosecute my defence for two hours. I trust the honourable members will be kind enough to allow me to respond in silence,” said Gachagua.
