It was in November 2023 when a team of operatives from Wells Fargo allegedly disappeared with KSh 94 million belonging to Quicmart Supermarket.
The retail chain had outsourced the company to handle its monies; the guards were to bank the millions when they disappeared with them.
Ayieko and his colleagues were undertaking an investigation parallel to the one by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
“Willis Ayieko, the HR director, was in these meetings where the company initiated a parallel internal investigation into the matter,” Daily Nation quoted one of the family members as saying.
The family members further confided in DN that a couple of employees at Wells Fargo had been arrested following the forensic analysis of communication data which linked them with the two prime suspects.
