For the first time, Kenya has sent two players for the Modus Super Series International Pairs tournament in United Kingdom in the first international event of that class.

They are top seed Peter Wachiuri and Manpreet Kalsi.

It started with preliminary matches three days ago with the knockout stages starting today.

This marks a significant milestone—the first time Kenya will be represented as a doubles team on this globally recognised darts stage under the auspices of Sirua Darts Group.

It’s being held at the prestigious Modus Live Lounge in Portsmouth United Kingdom.

Their  participation showcase Kenya’s expansion in professional darts after  Wachiuri’s groundbreaking appearance in February 2025, where he became the first Kenyan to feature in the Modus Super Series singles event.

Team Kenya started their campaign yesterday in Group B, which includes formidable opponents from Germany, the Republic of Ireland, Wales and the Netherlands.
 
Netherlands qualified as runners-up from Group A.

The top team from each group will advance to tomorrow’s finals alongside the winners from Group A and Group C.

Other participating nations include England, Wales, Belgium, Poland, France, Northern Ireland, and Gibraltar.

Team Kenya’s selection and participation follows months of rigorous performance through the African Darts Series League and build upon the success of the 2024 PDC World Championship Africa Qualifier, hosted in Nairobi—another first for Kenya and East Africa.

Coordinator Geoff Mureithi said this groundbreaking participation is a testament to the talent, resilience, and rising standards of darts in Kenya and across the region.

“This is a good move that allows the region to get the required international exposure against experienced players and nations in the fight for top honours,” Mureithi told Standard Sports.
