It’s not time for politics, President Ruto says in Embu

President William Ruto has emphasized that the nation’s focus should be on development, not politics, urging leaders to unite in advancing the country’s growth agenda.

This remark came after a somewhat lukewarm reception during his third stop in Embu County. Earlier in the day, the President launched the construction of a water intake and treatment plant, alongside the laying of 26 kilometers of pipes for the Kamburu Dam Water Supply project in Mbeere South.

Addressing the residents, the President noted that after a 50-year wait, the people of Mbeere South will finally benefit from the government’s dams located in their region. The project, valued at KSh 789 million, is expected to provide clean drinking water to 88,000 residents and significantly boost food production through irrigation once completed.

“Once completed, this transformative project will provide 88,000 residents with access to clean drinking water, as well as enhance food production in the area through irrigation,” President Ruto stated.

The President reiterated his government’s commitment to improving the lives of Kenyans through various impactful projects.

Later in the day, the President visited Tharaka Nithi County before returning to Embu in the afternoon. In Runyenjes, he highlighted the government’s partnership with the African Development Bank to enhance water connectivity in the constituency.

While in the area, President Ruto inspected the construction of the Huduma Digital Centre and launched the development of the Sh250 million Runyenjes Modern Market, which is expected to benefit over 850 traders.

In Embu Town, he also flagged off the KSh 580 million last-mile electricity connectivity project, which will provide electricity to 6,500 households. Additionally, the President visited the ongoing construction of the Embu Modern Market, which will accommodate 3,000 traders.

Concluding his visit, President Ruto reiterated the Kenya Kwanza administration’s dedication to transforming the lives of Kenyans through strategic and long-term projects.
