[Former Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) Women’s Premier League champions Kenya Port Authority (KPA) will return to action on Saturday when they host Stanbic Aces at Nyayo Gymnasium. KPA, who are third in the table with six points, will play Th3 Swish at the same venue on Sunday.

The Dockers will be looking to reclaim the title they lost to Equity Bank Hawks last season and a double win will take them to the top of the table while KPA join second placed Equity Hawks, Zetek University Sparks in fourth, Strathmore University Swords in fifth, Th3 Swish in sixth and Safe Spaces in seventh. The Spaces have six points each.

Stanbic Aces, who top the table with seven points, have played four matches, winning three and losing one. Equity, KPA, Sparks and Swords are unbeaten in three matches, Th3 Swish have won two of four and Safe Space have won one of five.

In the Men’s Premier League, Strathmore University Blades will face a strong Umoja Basketball Club team looking for their second win of the season. The Blades have a tough task of beating Umoja, who are second in the standings and looking to overtake former champions KPA.

Umoja have nine points and both KPA and third-placed Erdnet Platinum are on second place after five games. The Blades are seventh with six points, while Stan Vic Shields are eighth and will now meet second-placed Equity Bank Dumas.

However, the Dumas have only played two matches and have three points to spare. A win in today’s match is crucial for Banker as they look to improve their chances of making the playoffs by securing a spot in the top eight.
