Erik ten Hag was at pains to put into words the ‘injustice’ he believed his side went through on Sunday afternoon.
Manchester United were beaten by West Ham at the London stadium under controversial circumstances after Jarrod Bowen slotted in a late penalty.
The visitors were the better side of the game, but they were made to pay for missing clear-cut chances, especially in the first half.
Crysencio Summerville came off the bench to break the deadlock and fire the home side in front in the 74th minute. Casemiro finally took one of the numerous Manchester United’s chances to draw the Red Devils’ level seven minutes later.
The game’s contentious moment came in the 87th minute when Matthijs De Ligt was adjudged to have fouled Danny Ings inside the area. Referee David Coote was refereed to the monitor and gave the penalty, much to Ten Hag’s frustration.
