Emmanuel Osoro promises more after dream debut with Harambee Stars

FKF Premier League golden boot hopeful Emmanuel Osoro has promised to work even harder and fight for the Kenyan flag after helping Harambee Stars edge Chad 2-1 in an international friendly match played on Tuesday night at Marrakech Stadium in Morocco.

The FC Talanta goal poacher who sits second in the Golden Boot race with 16 goals with two matches left scored and assisted in the match that saw South African tactician Benni McCarthy bag his first win since taking over in March.

The former Manchester United first team coach had endured a difficult start to life in Kenya after losing to Gabon 2-1, drawing to Gambia 3-3 and be held by Chad last week 0-0.

Osoro scored and assisted David Sakwa in the win.

Osoro believes Kenya has a long way to go after scoring and assisting in his debut.

“It’s a dream come true for me to be called up to the national team. Since I started playing football, I pictured myself here one day and I am even pleased that I capped it with a goal that helped us win the match.

“Adding an assist makes it a perfect start for me but most importantly I am glad that at last we  got the win especially in the wake of last week’s disappointing draw,” said Osoro.

On the other hand, Sakwa, another debutant that scored in the Chad win called for patience and urged Kenyans to have faith in the team and coach.

“The fans need to believe in us. Patience because what is cooking here with McCarthy in charge is going to be beautiful. At the same time, we also need to trust each other as players in as much as we call for the same from the fans,” said Sakwa.

Kenya were using the matches to prepare for CHAN set for August.
