Political analyst Prof. Macharia Munene has dismissed President William Ruto’s blame on parents for failing in impacting moral ethics in their children.

Speaking on Spice FM on Thursday, July 24, Munene noted that the President should not traslate the demonstrations by the youth as moral decay in the society.

“Kenyans do not control their destiny anymore; the sovereignty of the country is gone. This youth people are only expressing their feelings and need for a better country,” he warned.

Munene pointed out that the generation was built from a stronger core, and the president should desist from blaming parents.

 “Under President Kibaki’s tenure, children were forced to go to school which bore the free primary education,” he said.

Munene noted that parents played a significant role in ensuring that their children received education.

 “If your child didn’t go to school, the parents would push them to attend classes which was indeed free,” he added.

He faulted the government on misuse of public funds that has raised the wage bill weighing heavily on Kenyans pockets.

“You get a strategic asset like the airport, communication system, and KICC; there are some things you don’t do as a country,” he said.

He blamed President Ruto’s advisors who he said are contributing to the downfall of his vision.

“Those surrounding him look very happy, they have a lot of money and they show off to the poor. We have money, let’s celebrate!” he stated.
