The youthful lawmaker argued that the Republican presidential candidates do not believe in the philosophy that foreign aid can be used to develop Africa.
He stated that most ongoing US-funded programmes in Kenya, including the Haiti mission, would be affected by Trump’s win.
“Trump’s win is bad news to the Ruto administration. Trump abhors foreign aid as a means of developing Africa. He will not meet Ruto to dish out free sanitary towels and mosquito nets. He will disapprove of Kenya as a non-Nato ally unless they demonstrate military capability befitting a regional hegemony. He will withdraw the US-funded program in Haiti,” Amisi said.
The ODM leader noted that Ruto’s administration would be forced to work hard to not rely on the US for aid.
“But Most likely, he might visit a few African nations for the first time within his four years in office just for relations purposes and the prevention of China’s massive capital-intensive infrastructure influence . Kenya will now be forced to work hard and stop over reliance on Western economic bloc! Kenya needs a Renaissance!” he added.
