Manchester United will face a trick opponent in the last eight of this season’s Carabao Cup after landing Tottenham Hotspur in the Wednesday night draw.
United beat Leicester City 5-2 in their first game since Erik ten Hag was fired on Monday. Club legend Ruud Van Nistelrooy masterminded the win, which was routine despite giving two goals away.
They will now play Tottenham away in the quarterfinals. Spurs beat an injury-ravaged Manchester City 2-1 to keep their hopes of silverware this season alive.
