Andre Onana’s past comments on Harambee Stars resurface as Kenya faces Cameroon

Kenya’s head coach, Engin Firat, will be buoyed by the return of lead striker and captain Michael Olunga. The Qatar-based forward missed last month’s set of friendlies with injury problems.

The squad that travelled to Cameroon on Thursday is still strong on paper despite the absences of Kenneth Muguna and Austine Odhiambo, the reigning Kenya Premier League Player of the Year.

Cameroon, meanwhile, have assembled a star-studded squad. Head Coach Marc Brys will be hoping that the recent wrangles between himself and embattled federation boss Samuel Eto’o won’t affect the team.

Brentford star man Bryan Mbeumo is expected to be a thorn in the flesh of Harambee Stars. Only two players have outscored the 25-year-old in the Premier League this season. Other key figures include Manchester United’s Andre Onana, who has kept the most clean sheets in England this season despite the poor run of form of the Red Devils.
