Nairobi – Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has reacted to viral video of him calling for President William Ruto’s impeachment.
On Monday, November 4, a video started circulating on social media. In it, Amisi is captured advocating for Ruto’s impeachment.
In the video seen by TUKO.co.ke, Amisi called on Generation Z (Gen Zs) to force Members of Parliament to table an impeachment motion against the president.
“When members return to parliament next week, let Genz force them to impeach the president. This war must now turn to the MPs. If I bring a motion of impeachment against the president, I expect 349 MPs to support the motion. We don’t need Gen Z on the street to be killed,” Amisi said.

However, the ODM lawmaker has downplayed the clip stating that it was an old video which has been overtaken by events.
Amisi explained that the video was recorded during the anti-Finance Bill 2024 protests where he supported Gen Zs.

According to Amisi, an impeachment motion against a sitting president is never announced in public but on the floor of the House.
“This is a very old clip. Taken during anti-finance revolt, those using it to expand their bargain from their Godfathers, try another day. Impeachment of a president is not announced ,it just happens. So relax ,take a deap breath and focus,” Amisi said.
Reaching out to TUKO.co.ke, Amisi linked former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua’s allies to the circulation of the old video.
