Faith helped her team win in the final group match, as they narrowly edged Mexico by 2 1.
The youngster’s exemplary performance earned her the prestigious award at the end of the game, and several Kenyans praised her.
The win was equally important for the squad and the nation, as it made a statement in the tournament.
There were other players whose remarkable performance helped the team secure a much-needed victory.

With the number 14 on her jersey, Lorna controlled the ball well after a spectacular pass from her teammate.
She got away from the Mexican defender, who relentlessly ran at her to try to cover the space left outside the penalty box.
Faith’s pace was too much for her as she rifled the ball to the top corner despite the Mexican goalkeeper stretching herself, hoping to reach the ball.
