An altercation between a matatu driver and a female passenger has left a bad taste in the mouths of many Kenyans, with many calling for his arrest.

Why did matatu operator slap woman?
A fellow passenger filmed the incident, which shows the two getting into a heated argument over KSh 10.
“Here is the KSh 10, and I am not giving you,” the woman said.

The angry matatu driver asked her to send it, but she would not budge.
“You will not show off here,” he said.
The matatu operator then informed her that he was an employee and she had to pay up.
The man then repeatedly slapped the passenger, who screamed in pain and shock. He then accused her of insulting him and demanded that she alight from the vehicle. The altercation drew a crowd of onlookers.
However, the woman would not budge despite the driver’s insistence.
The video irked many Kenyans, who called for the man’s immediate arrest, as others urged the woman to file a police report. Here are some of the comments:

Why did George Ruto’s matatu cause controversy?
In other news, George Ruto, the president’s son, was under scrutiny over his ownership of a matatu and was accused of flouting the rules.
The vehicle dubbed Money Fest was accused of skipping the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) inspection.
Money Fest was also accused of flouting traffic rules and not belonging to any matatu sacco.
George finally bowed to the online pressure.
