All set for the Kinsman and Marania Cups

After a mixed start at Timau Sports Club last weekend, several players who featured there this morning commence another battle for the Kinsman and Marania Cups at Northern Kenya Polo Club.

However, they are in different teams to participate in Division One and Two championships, respectively.

Top seed Casimir Gross, who steered Redigo Deter to win the Timau Stores Challenge Cup, is ready to repeat the same feat with Sivanto Prime team of Harry Griffiths, Hiromi Nzomo, and Mike Mwirigi in the Kinsman Cup.

Sivanto Prime takes on Hussar, led by George Mc Corckell, Jose Craig, Will Millar and Lochy Murray in the opening match of the three-day competition, which hits off at 2 pm.

In the Marania Cup, Vellum will face Skyway Pro in the first match at 3 pm.

Raph Nzomo, who played alongside Casimir Gross in the Redigo Deter team last weekend, this time leads Skyway Pro squad of Sacha Gross, Charlie Morley and Daisy Oldenburg in the onslaught against Vellum.

Skyway Pro will play against NBCA in the former’s second match an hour after the first match.

Thereafter, Vellum will play NCBA.

International Archie Voorspuy leads NCBA alongside Kelvin Jumba, Charlotte Manson and Emily Carlos.

The tournament’s coordinator, Delulu, said the weather conditions are favourable, hence the event will go on as planned.

“The weather conditions are good after the arrival of all teams yesterday. We are set to go with the matches,” Delulu told Standard Sports.

However, Delulu failed to state whether the teams will be involved in the two or four chukka matches ahead of the knockout stages.
