Morara Kebaso: Anti-Govt Activist Charged with Cyber Harassment over His Post on David Langat

Nairobi – Anti-government activist Morara Kebaso has been formally charged a day after the police arrested him.

Morara was arraigned at the Milimani Law Courts on Tuesday, October 1, where he was charged with cyber harassment contrary to Section 27 of the Computer Misuse and Cybercrime Act.

According to the charge sheet seen by TUKO.co.ke, Morara is accused of posting false information about businessman David Langat.

“David Morara Kebaso alias Morara Kebaso Snr on the 28th day of September 2024 at an unknown place within the Republic of Kenya, jointly with others not before the court, while using the X Corp Account dubbed; @MoraraKebasoSnr, knowingly without lawful excuse, posted false information to wit…” the charge sheet read in part.

Morara allegedly accused President William Ruto of deceiving Langat into lending him a large sum of money with a promise of repayment.

The activist claimed that Langat took huge loans to lend the president the amount of money he had requested.
