Defending champions Gor Mahia poor form continued yesterday after losing 1-0 to Kenya Police in Saturday’s FKF Premier League match at St. Sebastian Park, Murang’a.

Gor Mahia faced the law enforcers desperate to turn their fortunes around after losing by an identical scoreline to Bidco United and drawing 1-1 with Shabana in their last two outings.

However, it was Police who extended their fine run under new coach Etienne Ndayiragije to four matches when Alvin Mang’eni scored in the 62nd minute to hand the Burundian tactician his fourth straight win.

Ndayiragije replaced Salim Babu last month and has since edged out Nairobi City Stars (3-1), Mara Sugar (1-0), Bidco United (3-0) and now Gor.

Victory lifted Police to fourth in the standings with 20 points, four points behind leaders KCB as Gor dropped to sixth with 18 points.

In Migori County, Mara Sugar ended their six match winless streak after narrowly edging out Kariobangi Sharks 1-0 at Awendo Stadium.

Erick Juma netted the winner in the 70th minute as the sugar men moved to fifth with 19 points.

At the Utalii Grounds, a costly goalkeeping error from Elvis Ochoro saw Nairobi City Stars settle for a 1-1 draw against FC Talanta.

Mohammed Bajaber gave City Stars an early lead in the 11th minute with a superb solo effort but a last minute mistake by Simba wa Nairobi saw Emmanuel Osoro equalise for Talanta.

Elsewhere, Kakamega Homeboyz shared the spoils with Ulinzi Stars after a 1-1 draw at Mumias Sports Complex.

Action continues on Sunday where Shabana welcome league leaders KCB at Gusii Stadium while Sofapaka play free scoring AFC Leopards at Dandora Stadium which will host a double header.

The early kick off match will see Tusker play Bidco United at 1pm before Ingwe clash with Batoto ba Mungu from 4pm.
